I have been playing around in my bios with overclocking and stuff, the highest i could go before was 2.64ghz, i turned a few things down and now im running at 2.81ghz, i turned down htl-speed to 800 so the overclock would take it to 1020.44mhz and i also set the ram at ddr266 so the overclock wouldnt take it to high, when i set it to around 2.92ghz, it says there is a file corrupted or sometimes will just freeze up, is there anything else i could do? i am using a stock cooler which is holding up, it has only raised 3c.

My goal is to hit 3ghz help would be aprechated!!

*specs are in my sig*

Probably your ram is the source of problems, that and maybe the voltages? Try upping the voltage for the RAM too..

don't up voltages if you'r cooling is insufficient, though.

voltages are at max already, i tried turning things down again but it didnt work, i dont want this to be as high as i can go,

Up the CPU voltage. Mine's at 1.5V, and I'm idling at 26 celsius.

And yeah, the RAM definately is the source of the problem. My overclock is running 100% stable @ 2.8 , but I get horrible SuperPi results because my RAM is DDR266.

If/when I get new RAM, I really bet I could hit the 3.0GHz mark.
