what is your temp for the 7800 gt card before and after OC..i just OC mine it gets up to around 72-75 while playing BF2 for 2 hours OC..is that normal ..its running on 497 MHZ(core)-memory clock 1.17 GHZ

Those temps are safe, but still kind of warm. I believe NVidia cards can withstand temps up to 120*C.

Get a Zalman VF700 or VF900 GPU cooler if you can.

I e-mailed eVGA and the customer support said that my 7800GT should NOT be going over 75c because it is not safe for the card...

Answered By Arthur V (8/8/2006 4:59:33 PM): Your card should not be hitting above 75c on load. Overclocking your card will not void your warranty and nor will changing the cooler to an aftermarket one. The two things that can void your warranty are physical damage to the card and any missing components from the original configuration.

That is the exact response I got.

Oh forgot to tell you, mine runs at 40-42 idle up to 60-65 full load depending on what I am playing.

7600, 7800, and 7900's run pretty hot.

My card idled around 50-55c and was about 70c under full load...now I just wedged a 80mm case fan in between my 7900GT KO and Sound Blaster X-FI...fits perfectly and has brought my temps down to 42-48c idle and it's never gone above 69c full load. (Well it has when I ocd it to 710core/1920memory and ran 3dmark06 :)...went all the way up to 74 degrees..which is still quite reasonable.

Could just be cooling of the entire computer. If you havent worked on wire mangement or cooling for case and video card, then now is a good time to start. My x800 was 28 idle,52 load with old case and now with new soprano and vf900 its 26 idle and 38 load. Big difference!
