Delayed Write Failed

i got a usb 2.0 external harddrive. now wen i connect it to ma laptop(usb 2.0) and transfer somethin to it it brings up an error: Windows - Delayed Write Failed.

WHY...
HELP

1) Samsung (80GB/5400rpm/8M/PATA) - HM080IC - USB 2.0
2/3) Dell Inspiron 510m.
windows xp home edition
service pack 1 (2002). Processor 1.40Ghz
512MB of RAM

have you tried it in another system and are you sure you dont have the write lock on it.

i have tried it on some other computers. some work some dont. how do i disable/enable that write thing??

ther should be a little switch on the side that enables or disables write capability.

nope no switch, its a usb external hard drive. any other ideas wat to do??

ohhhh like an actuall hard drive in the case ok. i thought you ment one of those little pocket drives. try this.
