Why does the it do that?

Hi,

I have a really random problem, the screen will be working fine then the screen will start flickering (on/off) then a few days later i wont be able to use the machine again.

Dont think its the graphics card because it happened on my old motherboard aswell (transfered my parts over to a new mobo)

Its not the screen cos its done it on other screens.

Any Ideas?

it sounds like the graphics card. just because you put the card in a new board doesnt mean that the card itself isnt bad. try updating the graphics card drivers. and if that doesnt help try another card in the system.

Sorry should have made it clear, was using an agp graphics card on my old board the newboard has built in graphics (so not using the same graphics card)

update the chipset and graphics drivers for the integrated graphics.

also try and disable apm, you may not have standby mode but itll tell you if thats a problem or not.
