any additional equipment you might need.

By the sounds of it, you should just go for the prebuilt systems on newegg

That's a conroe E6400, good mobo, 2gb pc800 ram, 7600gt, yada yada, for right at $1000. Upgrade the 7600gt to something really nice and it'd fall about $1200 out the door.
