Hello all,

I get this SQL message every time I start up my computer and was wondering if I can get rid of it by deleting a reg entry but no idea where to look.

In case the link doesn't work the error says the following:
"Your SQL server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with(unknown package id). Please uninstall and re run setup to correct this problem".

I believe this problem occurred when installing Sony vegas 6, Sony acid or Sony soundforge Iv deleted all 3 and the message wont go away.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance.

ok in the event viewer I have the following hope its enough or what you wanted:

application:
warning: source sqlbrowser event 3
"The configuration of the AdminConnection\TCP protocol in the SQL instance SQLEXPRESS is not valid."

System:
Error: Source service control manager event 7000
"The DS1410D service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified."

Error: Source service control manager event 7022
"The MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR service hung on starting."

Error:Source service control manager event 7026
"The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
oreans32"

Error:Source service control manager event 7034
"The MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s)."

thanks for the help but ended up fixing it somehow :)

I went into services and spotted:
MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR

2 entries and both on automatic startup I disabled them, I then deleted any folders linked to Sony vegas or acid. At which point I ran ccleaner just in case. I also ran hijackthis and found another MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR which I normally couldn't delete but now it has and the error has vanished!

Not only that the slow down with my comp which I was worried was a hard drive failure was down to this! phew!. Thanks for the help though warez I doubt I would have got to the problem if I didn't check the event viewer.

Your help has been greatly appreciated :D.
