interesting mabey i didnt read it right mabey it altered their settings, it was a long time ago .

Oh its definately possible to wipe or atleast corrupt the CMOS from within windows, consider for example those BIOs flashes with can be run from windows.
I guess all the virus would need to do is use some of that flashing code to write junk to the bios.
