hi ..
i just built a new PC yesterday .. the config is :
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
Athlon 64 3000+ sock939, Venice core
2 x 256 MB DDR400 Ram
MSI NX6200 TD128E with TurboCache
80 gb hitachi sata II
LG flatron 1730S TFT
all devices are @ stock speeds
the hdd ws taken from my old pc n has windows XP and Fedora core 5.
wen i booted in2 windoze .. all the h/w got detected correctly and i installed the latest drivers..
.. and everything worked just fine for about 2 hours ... when i started getting weird horizontal bars on my screen.. CHK OUT THE PIC
this happens when there's any menu .. the menu has the artefact, and wen i leave the menu, the area under that has a similar pattern......... the pattern disappears when i refresh the desktop
I tried diff versions of the nvidia drivers ... but i stil hav the problem
also ... there's a square around my mouse pointer with a similar pattern... this is there almost always
wen i tried playing RTCW .. artefacts showed up in a few seconds .. and then the system crashed !!
the artefacts show up even on my CRT ... and also in linux
a memtest shows that my memory is clean ...
what could this be? n how do i fix it??
