I have a 250gb SATA WD Caviar and Im thinking about adding another 160 or 200gb hd. Will having 2 hard drives affect the performance of my computer?

It depends.

You can Do RAID0 if you get another 250 gb.

RAID stand for Redundant Array In disks.

Basically its alot faster.

but if you get a bigger or smaller drive and you add it on you wont see a diffrence at all.

Rudundant Array of Independant Disks*

Saying there will be no performance difference is sort of false. If you have a program that uses alot of memory so uses alot of page file and uses a hard drive for reading and writing alot than there will be better performance. But the only time I have ever done something that did that was transfering a video to BMP frames.

Also, if you use record games with a program like FRAPS than having it on a independant HDD increases game performance.

There's no real reason to fear hard drives slowing down your computers performance.

You won't notice a difference.
