Webcam is Red-Hot

Please help...

My webcam is absoloutly Red hot... i took it out of the casing to look for any short circuiting and the middle is too hot to touch... it actually burns your finger,....

Please help me..

Take it back! Get a new one.

definitely sounds to be getting too hot.......but in future that does not sound like the best course of action to take. if something is hot then don't touch it. could you please tell us what model the camera is. if it is still working fine i doubt it is any manufacturing defect, probably a design flaw. if possible could you take a photo and circle what part of the camera was hot enough to burn you when you opened it

wow that seems odd. i don't think CCD cells produce much heat and where you are pointing seems to be the back of the CCD cell unless the heat is coming from the electrolytic capacitor as they can get quite hot.

if the compacitor overheats the top metal part of the compacitor(where its marked x or watever) will eventually pop up or explode because of the heat . check on the compacitor's limit of degrees written on the side and see wat it can handle . if its hotter than wat its written then dont expect it to last long .
