Windows Movie Maker Not Importing

For some reason windows movie maker is refusing to import a 103MB .wmv file
its quite important to do some simple editing of this file.
all it says is an unspecified error
Any ideas?

also have you tried importing with other videos or is it just this video that does it.

okay,
fisrt there is a screenshot of the error below
also i just want to say i tried reinstalling windows movie maker and it didnt wotk, so im assuming it has something to do with codecs, drivers, registry ect
Also i tried it with other videos and the same thing happened with the unspecified error thing
"edit"
Ps im not using vista, im using XP

Convert the video to another format, try it again. Or simply use another video editing program, I never liked WMM anyway.

Yeah I would suggest converting the video and then trying it again. That should work

its cool, i downloaded the trial of adobe premier elements and i am using that for the moment
after all 30 days is enough
and when i get the cash i shall buy premier elements because i have decided i really like it
