what makes this price difference

maybe tigerdirect is having a promotional offer or because AMD is droping the price for it's processors and tigerdirect has full stock of them while newegg is short in supplies.

Take a closer look at the CPU Speed: The less expensive CPU is at 2.2GHz, the more expensive is at 2GHz.

The CPU has no immediately visible info on the L1 or L2 cache, but I would wager that they are the same...?

Get it!

it's called economics. i'll bet that newegg had surplus stock of that model processor when AMD announced it's price drops. now newegg certainly don't want to lose money on something they have already paid a considerable sum for so they will try to sell as many of these as possible at a price that covers what they paid for the stock. just because AMD lowers prices doesn't instantly mean a shop can lower theirs.
