DVD-RW reads DVDs but not CDS

Hi, my laptop, a packard bell, has recently been unable to read any type of CD. At first i assumed it was the end for my DVD-RW drive, however i tried a DVD and to my surprise it played perfectly. I have tried a lens cleaner disk, ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. According to device manager the drive has no problems what so ever. Im pretty computer literate, but this has got me stumped. Whatever help you could offer will be greatly appreciated, because im at a dead end, and from searching the net i couldnt find anything that has helped.

If not the lens is out of calibration.

To fix that well you need some industrial electronics kowledge and an Oscilloscope

Combos use two lasers, one for DVD and one for CD. Your CD laser is probable off-cal like PR Gamer said. It's RMA time, in all likelihood.
