Apple Powerbook G4 15" LCD problem

We just got this G4 in shop. The customer was referred to us from Apple. The LCD has permanent "white spots" or ghosting on the screen. I almost think its been designed too tight and the screen is pushing against the keyboard when it's closed.

Apple offers no fix and no possible cause either.. Infact, the warranty on recall repair for this issue just ended, im gonna have to charge this guy for the fix. He should have read that before coming in, but im more curious as to what youall might think is causing the problem.

Very strange problem, never come across it so far.

Some things i would consider doing is taking of the whole screen and disconnecting the inverter and vga cable & cleaning the connections with a good powerful air sprayer or dissolveable cleaner.

For the sake of time, we just went ahead and replaced the LCD. If I come across it again I'll try what you suggested, maybe I can save the customer some money.
