Hi.. I am looking to build a new gaming computer as my first build. I play call of duty 1 and am looking to get a high fps which I know from friends' computers seems to rely mostly on the video card and ram.

I am looking to save as much money as possible. Here is what I have:

MSI K9N Neo-F Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 550 MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - $77

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Orleans 2000MHz HT 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor - $108

G.SKILL 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 667 (PC2 5400) System Memory - $75 (MSI board says standard is DDR2 800, but those are more expensive)

Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 ATX12V 500W Power Supply 115/230 V TUV, UL, CUL, CE, CB, FCC - $70

eVGA 256-P2-N554-AX Geforce 7600GT KO 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3200820AS 200GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

SONY Black 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM IDE DVD-ROM Drive Model DDU1615/B2s - $20

I need a case that has adequate fans, quiet, not too flashy. Is the power supply adequate?

Does anyone see anywhere that I can save money? I really do not want to increase the cost.

Is everything compatible?
Thanks

or the Antec Performance I P-160W:

or the Antec LifeStyle SONATA II:

or the Antec Performance I P180B Black:

Note, these ain't overly cheap, but they are what you said you were looking for.

Also look at cases by CoolerMaster (the Ammo looks like) and ThermalTake.

Great build overall. Nicely done research :D . For the case, I would recommend the P-160 from Antec like Trotter said. If you look at TT, I would check out the Soprano cases.

Wow this computer you're building is the exact same one I built about a month ago. Mine runs great. Good computer.

Thanks for the responses.

So do I need SDRAM DDR 800 or can I save a bit of money by going to something lower like 667?

Is the PSU adequate?
