Serious ping problem...

okay so i just built a new comp. specs in sig and when i play games like css my ping is so high that i get kicked from the servers. sombody told meit would be because of the packet size with the 7900GT

but i diddnt spend 1800 bills on a setup that runs worse then my sisters 300 dollar setup.

thats just ********.

help please.

Is this ping or fps?


Ok first of all the whole packet problem is somthing way diffrent.


Your ping is insanley high becuase you didnt set the Rates right.


Second the whole packet issue has to do with multiplayer like that.

Example.

When I play HL2 Gmod on line and I spawn a jeep and I drive it, it lags like crazy, becuase I norally get 150ish FPS but its sending so many packets that in cant do it fast enough and such.

So I did FPS_Max 30 in console and less packets = smooth ride.

its the ping and latency. i looked at my latency and it was like 900 lol, and then it kicks me with the error message "your ping is too high"

do you have a firewall on? If so did you unblock the ports for this game. If you have a router connected try forwarding the ports on the router. Also try making sure you have the most up to date drivers for your nic.

i was talkig about forwarding the ports. i dot know wat he means by that.
