maintenaince programs

I currently use spybot, ad-aware, and speed disk, Windoctor, and Disk Doctor from Norton Utilities to maintain the performance of my computer. However, I'm not exactly sure how often it's best to use each one.
Also, is there anything else I should be using along with those-some virus detection program or something that works really well?

I use Reg Scrub Xp, Windows Cleaner, Spybot S&D, some program that i cant remember the name of but it scans for trojans and other nasty things. Ad-Aware, the norton system works, defrag, disk cleaner and I think thats about it.
