Motherboard Issues???

Hello to all


Ok, here's the situation. When I turn on my computer the POST screen looks very stange. The characters are a little jumbled. Also the colors are screwy. It looks exactly the same if i enter the bios. On the next screen it just has some random characters. Which looks like its supposed to be a spreadsheet type screen with all my hardware listed. Then windows loads with no problem. Once in windows every couple seconds the screen will leave different color pixel's. Any Idea's????

I've updated the BIOS, and display drivers.

Which seems to have helped with the random pixel's once windows is loaded. however, it still does it.

Check the RAM and video card, if it does this during POST it's commonly these two problem plus the motherboard or the CPU (but unlikely or else the entire computer won't work).

I agree the CPU is not the issue or it won't even be able to load windows...

Originally there were 2 sticks of RAM installed and the machine won't even turn on...or at least nothing appears on the screen. But if i put only one RAM stick in it loads normally.

Can you recommend any programs that will help me troubleshoot the video card?

Here is a bunch of diagnostic software lists, try the Video Card Stability Test one. Some will do it in Windows, some will do it from a removable media. I haven't tried all of them but you can certainly find the right one from the list.
