Hey,

A very very good friend of my has an very old Socket A system with DDR400 [not too shabby] and an AGP x8 video card[she says her pc tells her its Gforce FX5950 Ultra LE.. has anyone heard of it?? Im guessing its AGP x8 although shes clueless and I dont recognize the model]

Anyway she wants to just upgrade her Motherboard and CPU for a better mutlitasking ability.. [she plays same RPG games as I do that you can run multiple clients and her Athlon XP is very limiting her... she can barley run one lol]

Now I had in mind getting her an x2 3800 + a nice S939 motherboard with AGP x8 support so she wont have to get new ram [or at least just get another dual kit and run extra ram instead replacing completley] and she wont have to replace v. card because she don't need high-end graphic card [it serves her needs.]

Now I had in mind two motherboards:

I don't know the diffrence between them... and not too sure of their quality frankly either.

Thing is I have NO experience with S939 at all [never owned one], so can anyone toss me a hint? She doesn't wish to spend more than 250$[USD] for both the Mobo and CPU... and perhaps she will add SOME money for extra ram, thats up to her I dunno yet.

ah.. that IS a great board, but where can she buy it? I dont see it on any store...

Just stick with socket 939 and pci-e, that way you still get ddr400 and you dont need to find lower end am2 boards that support ddr
