I have :

AMD Athlon 64 3200
ASUS K8V
Western Digital 74 Gb 10K RPM SATA

The mobo has connections for SATA and RAID SATA. I can't figure out how to install WIN XP. I've made driver disks on another computer and I push F6 during loading to install scsi device.

I always get the same reply - No hard drives can be found. I think I've tried everything. I know hd is plugged in properly because it gets warm after a few minutes and it is noticed during bios loading.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are using the RAID SATA connections for you hard drive your motherboard may not recognize it unless you enable RAID in your setup. By default it is usually disabled. Even though you may not be using it in a RAID configuration it has to be enabled in order for you to use it. This will of course add about 10 to 20 seconds on your boot time.

theyre the same thing, raid is something you tell drives to enable, not a connection (unless its from a card).

So you have drivers for your HDD on a floppy disk and youve pressed F6 during load up and run THAT floppy?
