Using Laptop as Monitor?

Is there any way i can use my laptop as a monitor for my Desktop Computer? I want to try and do this so that i dont have to buy a monitor, just wanna kno if its possible? On the back of my lap top i have a connector that would allow me to add a monitor to my lap top, and i have an s-video connection. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Possible? Sure, nearly everything's possible. Feasible? No, not at all. This would require you to pull the connection on your LCD on your laptop, make an extension for the data cable for the LCD, and an adaptor so that you could hook it up to a standard VGA or DVI slot. And if you want to actually use your laptop again, you'd have to reverse all of this.

It would be easier to find a cheap CRT at Officemax or somewhere and get that.
