Blutack is handy

After I left my computer on all night it was getting on my nerves a little because the fan was vibrating like mad. So this morning I took 4 long stips of blutack and put them around the edges of the fan holder. I screwed my fan on and viola it was quiet...

hey thats a good idea, ya dont even need strips you could just do blobs where the screw go

Its so so so quiet now. its probable best to use stips because if you do just the screws its not going to absorb all the virbration

true, but if you do it in blobs, you could raise it a few mm above the case, and all the vibration would go to the blobs

There is another way of making you fans quiet... Hit the case as hard as you dam well can. It works with me lol

just incase you didn't know, they make rubber fan silencers that fit between the fan and case for this sort of thing!!
