I was going to upgrade my old computer but I decided to start from scratch and build a different one.. I searched this site and seen where Nukem recomended this setup.

All I will be using it for is for school work such as word and excel and also surfing the web. But I still want it to be a decent quick desktop that will last awhile..

What is your suggestions on this setup and is there any changes I should make. Thanks

thats not a very good build.. and its missing some components.. like hard drive and optical drives...

since i don't knwo your budget, i'll just give you a good build, and you can trim here and there to bring the price down to what you can afford. did you pick the xion xion case because you liked it? or because nukem recommended it? if you like it, then its fine, if not, then go pick one you like.. i won't recommend a case.. i'll give you all the other parts though...

i'll just give links.. hehe.. too lazy to type out parts..

total: $675.45 - $20 mail in rebate = $655.45

throw in a case you like, and add shipping. depending on where you live, you might also need to add taxes.

if you can't afford it.. let us know and we'll show you which parts you can cheap out on

Thanks for the advice aliasaid. Everything you have is possible for me to get but if I could get by spending a lil less on the processor and the memory without losing alot of performance that would be great. If not ill stick with what you gave me..

I would like to save a little more because im also planning on buying a new laptop for school once I build this one.. I have only found one laptop under the 650 dollar range that maybe worth it..

I havent decided on what case to get yet.. Im still lookin for one I like.. This will be the first computer I ever built so I hope its not too hard to do once I get all my parts together.. lol

i don't recommend downgrading the ram or the cpu. if your money is tight, and you've completely sworn off any type of gaming in the future, you could find a similarly priced motherboard with integrated graphics, and take out the video card all together... or.. you can just get a cheaper video card.. something like a 7300 or a 6200.. although.. for any semi-decent gaming, you really don't want to be going lower than the x1600pro
