I plan on an upgrade here soon. For a budget gaming system, I plan on just getting a new MB, CPU, V-Card, and Power Supply. With a 939 board, I could keep the same RAM I have now if I decide to...

The board I plan on getting is:

But I can't decide between which AMD CPU (mostly AMD cause the prices went down...):
1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103562
or
2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103546

Is the difference significant between 2x512kb and 2x1Mb? I have already decided on dual-core because I handle a lot of different applications with my schedule, besides gaming.....

The larger cache is a plus if you can afford it. Plus, it's faster.

The cache allows the CPU to hold more instructions in que, so it's not having to slow down to go get them [very simplified explanation].

In all truth double cache is maybe 10% increase under FULL load, so in all truth it is not much, but if you have the extra cash I would get it.
