tv tuner for starchoice?

Is there a tv tuner card that can work with starchoice satilite tv?

I'm just assuming there's something special about it in that you can't just connect it to the coax input jack on a regular tuner card and have it work?

IF it works with a standard TV with coax inputs, then it WILL work with a tuner card with coax inputs, since the card is essentially just adding television capabilities to your computer.

If it uses RCA jacks however, you may have to find a card that supports though.

my starchoice has a tuner box that the cable goes into

You mean like a cable that runs into a satellite receiver that transfers the signal from the satellite dish to the receiver, and then from the receiver to the TV?

OK then, you'd hook it up just like you do to a TV. You'd have to have a connection coming in to your receiver, and you'd just hook up the receiver to your card.

Then you would have to use the reciever to change the channels. So you would be much better off just getting a tuner card (or just your video card) with an svideo port, vivo . To do what I think you want to do is not very common and would require a tuner card that could descramble the channels and that would be ilegal.

if you use an svideo port can you record tv shows onto the computer?

i thought svideo on a video card sends the signal out and doesn't bring the signal into it.
