ATX Power Supply

I need my memory jogged!

Should a ATX power supply, power up when on the bench with just power connected? Not installed in the computer.

Nope, not unless you short the green wire with a black one. This isn't necessarily good for the PSU, though.

If you do it, you should have a few fans attached just so the PSU has some kind of Load, The only reason why would you would want to Jump the PSU is to see if it works, which shouldn't take to long to figure out if it turns on or not.
