WMP10 has gone mute!

Ever since I installed the matroska pack in my pc to play .mkv files, my wmplayer has gone silent. It plays the files all right, audio and video, but no sound comes through my speakers. Speakers are all right, I have checked. So what gives? Any suggestion will be welcome.

Yeah I have checked and they are fine.
