Notebook HDD swap

Hi,

I am about to swap my old 60gb for a newer 120gb in my samsung x20. I have a few questions regarding the swap before I try and do it myself.

On my current hard drive, I have partitioned it into 2 drives. How would I put all my files across to my new HD? Will I also have to partition the new one before hand?

Also, what programs should I use to move all the data to the new HD?

you do not have to partition the new one if you dont want to. you could use an external harddrive and copy all your data there. then copy it to your new harddrive.

I tried using partition magic to copy all my files to the new HDD but it gave me a warning that the drive would no longer be bootable.

So then I found another program to use which was Acronis True Image which made an exact image of the drive and moved it to the new drive. Now its working perfectly.
