Probably the CPU, if anything. But in the situation you're in with Everest, I don;t know how to give you a definite answer. Maybe try formatting, and doing a clean install.
 
In laymens terms, yes. Pop your Windows XP CD in the ROM, restart your PC, and just before Windows loads, you'll see a message at the bottom of the screen saying "press any key to boot from CD". Do it, and the rest will be pretty easy, explained on-screen.
 
will i lose all of my information? and im not sure if i have an xp disk, because it was installed when i bought the computer. unless it came with one
 
Yes, if you format, you will lose everything. Oh, I forgot about you not having a Windows XP disk. Did you not get a disk when you bought it?
 
lol ummm... score. yeah i got a system recovery disk if that counts. i'll try the resore once i get my 6800 back so i can see if anything changes when i put it in.
