Hi - i still need help to permanently remove the wallpaper/screensaver i installed. It doesn't seem to show up in my programs except when i press ctrl alt del after the wallpaper has "taken over" the screen allowing no activity; & the only way i can (temporarily) remove it is by highlighting it & clicking on End Task in the box that appears with various other programs. How do i remove this or any other program? (In your reply please consider i know nothing about computers.) I have Windows 98SE.

Did you install a wallpaper program, or just a single wallpaper? MSCONFIG is under START-RUN-*type*MSCONFIG then go to startup and see if it's there.
Alternatively, go into the control panel, hit Add/remove programs and look for it there.
Or, you could just right click on the desktop, go to display, then desktop and pick a new wallpaper.
