I spent a few hours last night trying to fix the problem, but my desktop was acting a bit funny last night and i rebooted it, since that, it hasn't booted back up. I thought it was the video card at first, so I tried that, but no. I thought it was the ram, so I tested with one stick at a time - nope. I thought it was the bios, so i reset it - nope. I thought it was the powersupply, but it was still powering the fans.

So, it's either the cpu or the motherboard. I have an nf7s and the cpu isn't allowed to get hotter than 65c and the warning rings at 55.

my guess is that its the mobo, but outside opinion would be gladly appreciated.

try taking out all *ram* out of the computer then turn it on, if it doesnt post (a couple of beeps) then the chances of your mobo being shot is good!!

i think it is shot. sadly, i've tried fifty different things.

luckily, a buddy of mine just upgraded his pc and has a mobo leftover and a cpu to tag along with it.

sadly, its a p4... so im gonna have to reinstall windows and just about everything else.

thanks for the help.
