had a BSOD now all my settings and favorites are gone

all of my favorite links i had saved on firefox for months are gone, and usernames and passwords that i had that automatically signed me in to certain sites are gone too. i guess this has to do with the memory dump from the bsod? is there any way to get this stuff back or do i have to manually put it in all over again?

consider your self lucky that your computer booted back up lol. if you are using windows XP do a system restore to a date before the BSOD and that should work.

sometimes i think about getting linux so i dont have to deal with this stuff.

Do you have multiple local profiles in your c:\Documents And Settings\User.Name(2) ?

Your bluescreen may have corrupted your original local profile and created a new one when you logged in after your BSOD...

yah linux is great :]. Try Ubuntu if you want a good newbie friendly linux
