RAID stuff.. and others

hello

im going to be building a music production pc
( maybe some cs on it... )

just had some hard drive questions....
RAID... well from what i know of it uses 2 drives and links them to both handle stuff like one drive, so its faster
am i on the right track?

i wanted to have 1 HD for OS and progs then another HD with huge storage for ... storage of stuff

so would i be able to run the one hard drive for system stuff and
the 2x RAID for fast accees storage?

now that i wrote all taht.. maybe i should just do RAID and no 3rd drive...

well, uh... what are your guys thoughts?

Hmm well you are pn the right track with music as a side note i know your getting a good sound card. anwayz onto that raid you will want to make sure the two HD's you are getting are the same speed otherwise it will not work but im sure you knew that anyway yes a raid allows for faster access memory ideal for games yet hardly neccessary seeing as most Hard Drives are "fast enough". But having two hardrives or one raid setup and a single hard drive for other stuff would be a very good idea indeed.
