I'll be using it on the go aalott. its for university, so they'll be alot of word processing, spreadsheeting, charting, etc.

Also, music and videos are a must...good music and graphics card.

the macbook is too expensive for what its really worth. its just a looker.

Can your PC laptop run OS X and Windows XP?

Everything you said is MAC MAC MAC.

Find a "PC" laptop with a 2.0Ghz Core Duo for $1200 and we'll talk.

You can put Windows on Mac's now too, and choose Windows or Mac OS X on startup.

This is starting to sound like a Mac ad:

-Hello, Im a Mac
-And Im a PC
*achoo!

-Need some help?
-No Im fine, stay away, i got that virus thats going around, did u know that there are over 20,000 viruses?
-Well thats for PC, Mac doesnt have as near as much.

-Well, thats because nooooobody uses Mac....too bad Mac, u lost the world market...stop crying and get your **** together...ur operating system is inferior because its incompatable with the whole world.

-Well thats why we could run Windows now!
-You still have a Please, if you're going to tick me off by insulting OS X, don't use profanity.

:) Giving up Mac OS X was Apple's smartest move yet. Mac OS X will fad away into the dust, but I loved its user interface :( . Your right, I'd doubt that I could find a PC with 2Ghz under $1200, but the MacBook doesn't have nearly as much other features.

Lets compare

MacBook

$1,249.00
13.3-inch widescreen display
1280 x 800 resolution
1.83GHz Intel Core Duo1
512MB memory (2x256MB SODIMMs)
60GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive2
Combo drive (DVD-ROM, CD-RW)

Lenovo 3000

$1,249.98 (98cents more! OMG!)
Processor Intel Core Duo Processor T2300 1.66GHz, 677MHz FSB
Memory 1GB (512/512) 667MHz SODIMM
Hard Drive 100GB SATA 5400rpm Hard Drive
CD/DVD Drive DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive
Display 15.4" WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050)
Video Capability NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 with Turbo Cache 64 MB
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Wired Network Interface 10/100 LAN
Wireless Network Interface 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN
Modem V.92 modem
Card Reader 4-in-1(SD/MMC/MS/XD)
Camera 1.3 Megapixel
Extra Bluetooth

I'll stick with the Lenovo. The Mac is +$300 with 1GB memory, and 100GB hard drive.

Can Computer is GOD! Low Low Prices..good for a student like me!

BTW, did anybody find notebooks with Mermon yet?

I didn't realize that things could "fad" away. "Fade" away yes, "fad" away probably not.

well Mac OS X was just a fad :p. Like baggy pants, parachute pants, the mullet, Pogs and Pokemon cards.

Just a fad...every fad eventually fades away :D

I'll stick with the Lenovo. The Mac is $80 for 1GB memory on newegg, and 100GB hard drive.

Right, Mac OS has been around years longer than Windows. Windows was in the right place at the right time. Windows ME was just a fad. LOL

Even though you've pointed out the extras, you missed how it has double the memory, 40 more GB hard disk, over 1 inch larger screen, higher resolution, the NOT useless Card Reader 4-in-1.

Windows has had much more success then the Mac...maybe because its capable of handling real world tasks...not just multimedia and entertainment. The tons of versions of Windows shows that Microsoft is financially capable of developing its OS with the market. More people use it, more feedback on improvements = better OS that addresses real issues.

I'm not saying that that Macbook is better than the Lenovo, because in many respects it is not. But you left out key features in order to make the Macbook look worse than it is. I fixed it.

The 4-in-1 card reader is a feature useless to me. So is the modem. They need to take out the 4-in-1 reader and the modem and put 6 more USB ports.
