Odd message saying no cd/dvd burner

I've never burned a data disc or DVD, but I've burned music cd's.

I'm trying to burn photos onto a cd, but my Sony DVD-RW/CD dual drive isn't getting detected.

Please don't tell me it can't actually burn data discs...

I have Windows XP on a Sony Vaio desktop with their first generation dual core processor models.

What does your device manager have to say about this? Any error Icons?



Updated drivers recently?



What program are you using to burn the disk with?



Are you getting an error while copying files over to the disk or when you click burn?

No error icons

I dunno how to update drivers

Numerous programs including: Media Center, I tried to write the files right from the folder

The only message is that I don't have a DVD/CD burner
