building computer need help

ok iam building a computer. first time, uh iam not sure as on what to buy like i got the tower in mind. iam sure the stuff i buy wont depend on my tower...right? and um if you could....give me a list of exactly what ill need like what type of RAM and stuff all that maybe just a list i dont need to get it off innernet iam going to store to buy but itd help if you could give m e a list for ... a gaming computer but ill be browseing web with i and playin music so basiclly its multimedia so yeah my budget is estimation in 1000's

ok, here are some good parts to look at. keep in mind that if you wait a week or two you could get your hands on the new intel Core 2 Duo CPUs. they're a lot better.. and you'll probably spend the same amount of money.. maybe a bit more..


but since core 2 duo isn't released yet, this is the kind of system you should be looking into getting if you were buying today..

yes, if the motherboard supports it (99.9% of the time, yes!)


there are cases where some ddr2 ram just won't work on AM2 sockets.. try to make sure the ram is not made for intel systems only..
