Mouse Freezing Randomly

so my mouse drivers are getting uninstalled and reinstalled repeatedly, and its very annoying, to the point where its unusable.

I've tried messing with IRQ's, ACPI, motherboard BIOS functions, i've surfed the net and this site a billion times.

I plugged the mouse into one of my older comps and it detected and works just fine.........

I've also used new motherboards and graphics card and power supplies and i still get the same problem. I can't seem to find a pattern, it just happens really randomly. When the mouse freezes, the light on my mouse would go off/dim, so I think this would be a power problem. I've also downloaded new drivers for everything I could think of.

So basically, I just know these things are not the problem:

Graphics Card (heat is not a problem either)
Motherboard
Memory
Power Supply
Mouse
USB

I haven't tried using a new processor, but could that possibly be the problem?

erm, maybe the socket for the mouse if broken,, you should try a diff mouse on that socket for a while, and then youll know

Have you tried using a different mouse on the PC??

I tried both and still get problems. Its not the mouse itself. It works fine on other computers

do you get the problems with 2 different mice on that computer ?? if so get a usb mouse ,
