If it makes a high pitched sound that's really loud the monitor is probably broken. If it doesn, lowering the refresh rate might help.

Ah yeah if it's abnormally loud then it is broken. You want a higher number refresh rate. Lower may get rid of the high pitch sound, but it will flicker you into having seizures. ;)

ehhhh im not one for crt's. were you going to get a crt lcd, or just a regular crt? IMO lcd's provide a much better picture

CRT LCD? What are you talking about?

And you are blind if you think LCD's have a better picture than CRT's.

CRT LCD's I'm not sure what they call them but they are as thick back as a crt but have a flat lcd screen.

But i was referring to the old round screened crt when i said i prefer lcd screens more.

What? No!

Flat =/= LCD

LCD is a totally different type of display than a CRT.

There are round CRTs and flat CRTs but the flat CRTs are NOT LCDs.

No, LCD is Liquid Crystal Display, CRT is Cathode Ray Tube. They are totally different, one "projects" and the other is just totally different.

LCD doesn't mean flat. It IS flat, but a flat screen isn't always an LCD just because of it's flatness.

The CRTs that are flat are called "Flat screen CRTs" and LCD's are called "Flat Panel LCDs"

Yeah.

Thanks for all the replies and even more so for telling me about that accurate web site. I found two there that I liked and I also found a Mitsubishi Monitor 930SB for $225.00 including shipping. Is this more/less than what it is worth? Should I buy that one or one of these two?

Thanks for all the help. I know that there is a difference in price but are the qualities also as different? Is the more money worth it? I need this to last at least 4 years. Thanks again,
