!!!!!Desktop Background Help Not Working!!!!!!!

okay so i have windows xp on my computer and my desktop background images are not working. If you right click something to set as background it doesnt work. Also none of the original backgrounds on the computer work either. The background is just black. I talked to someone before and they said to try IrfanView so i got that and if you open an image in that program and then click set and background it will work. But then as soon as my comp is rebooted it goes back to the black screen.

no its just an all black screen

if you go into desktop, customize desktop, web tab, what do you see?

theres an un checked box for something. I dunno what it is... something about the internet. Anyways i think its supposed to be unchecked.

to display a webpage on your desktop, select it from the following list. To add a web page to the list, click new. To update webpage content, click syncronize.

web pages:

then theres a box with a check box beside my current home page

on the right of the box it says new, delete, properties and syncronize.

below the box it says: to prevent moving or resizing of web items on your desktop, select the following check box.

then another check box besides lock desktop items.

uninstall whatever program that you had running the desktop screen in the add or remove programs part
