I recently purchased a 160 gig ata133 8mb cache maxtor white label harddisk and have encountered some problems. When I formatted the drive it only allows for 131 gb of the true 160. When I run AIDA it says the actual drive capacity is 156 gigs, but i cannot allocate all of it. I have used partition magic and I cannot see the other 25 gigs. Also in my bios the motherboard says the harddrive is ATA 133, but AIDA says it is only operating at ATA 100. If there is any way I could fix this it would be great.

Thanks

How old is your motherboard? You may want to make sure that the IDE Controllers on your Mobo can handle Ultra ATA133 also, if they can not handle ATA133 then they probably also can not break the 137GB Barrier. If this is the case you will need to purchase another IDE Controller for your computer or upgrade your mobo.
