worm.vb.dw... Actually, keep note of all the worm.xx.xxxx's that you find. You may need to manually remove these later.

AVG takes good care of those threats as well...

so far avg found a trojen.

Keep track of as much as possible. You may get a message saying that AVG is unable to remove all components of that Trojan.

Write down the trojans name b/c you may need to research the removal in google.

There was only 2-3 infected files but i can't remember...

When my computer boots up and i logon to windows xp the application my computer opens.

How do i logon to windows without the my computer opening up?

I checked msconfig and disabled all startup apps and that didn't do it.

what are you asking? an application is opening up that you don't want to open up?

or that you don't want the logon screen? you just want windows to open up

its the my computer application and even though i did all those scans and my computer runs faster it still comes up on startup...

I even disabled all the startup apps with msconfig...

try this to remove unnecessary items from startup.

regedit startup

go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre
ntVersion\Run

in your registry. this will show you the hidden program that run at startup, but don't show up in startup (msconfig). right click and delete the ones that you don't want

for all user on the computer, go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr
entVersion\Run

to delete keys
