dude it sonds like aram issue to me i got a free stick of ram from my friend i put it in and my programs would always error out do you getan error screen or does it just quit.

It just quits, but it's not just limewire. Google earth won't work either.

btw, whats the cheapest i can get for a windows xp home edi, "not up grade"

Limewire is a known spyware related program that can cause all sorts of problems with your system....does windows shut down or is Limewire shutting down?? you can try these programs:

Well my computer was already acting up before i installed limewire, but i'll give those other programs a try. thx for the links

btw, i was looking for a OS on newegg and i found one for $89 (Windows XP Home Edi). I'm not sure if i should buy it considering it originally cost $200. Is it safe to buy?

yes its safe to buy. Thats the os i use.

Try using another O.S, such as Linux. You can download a Live CD, 700MB, that acts like an OS, that runs off the CD-ROM, so you can see how nice Linux is!
