that isn't really a begginer's guide because some of those tips/tweaks need more elaboration...

could be just me thats an extreme noob.. but things like these i wouldn't know how to do..

Stop the 'last access update' stamp
Disable the 8.3 naming convention
Keep Windows operating data in main memory
Obtain the newest drivers for your hardware
Disable performance counters
Move the page file from system drive
Create a 'permanent' page file
Optimize your page file size
Defrag page file with PageDefrag utility
Set priority for important programs


or pretty much anything in 17-46 part... guess i'll have to do individual research..

no, some of it does go over my head, but those things i just leave out.

I mean not doing a few things isnt going to make much difference, as long as you do the main ones like disabling indexing service etc
