Im thinking of getting myself an AM2 mobo and cpu for waiting the release of amd's bet to conroes. heres my question

im getting a MSI K9N Neo-F mobo and AMD Athlon 64 3200+ AM2 cpu. The mobo supports ram frequencies of 800 - 667 - 533 - 400 Mhz. Ive heard issues of memory problems here but are solved according to them by updating their BIOS. My question is, will it run fine on a 533mhz ram coz i cant find here who sells 667 or 800 here.

If i use 533mhz of ram, am i required to update my BIOS? honestly I dont know how to update my bios and scared that i may erase a valuable data so as much as no bios update required, that would be easy.

Dude... the page doesnt even exist, and besides, what the **** does sata 2 have to do with ram speeds for socket am2

o_O...

The 533 will work just fine.

Oh so I will be having no problems with 533 and no need to update my bios? Thank you very much

Sori bout that pepsiboy I edited it without notice. But anyway thanks for the link you gave me. I wonder why I asked about SATA II :(

Going to Socket AM2:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0Ghz AM2
MSI K9N Neo-F nForce 550
PQI DDR2 533mhz

Thank you very much for the effort in replying in this thread. ^_^
