Even before its official announcement, Microsoft put a link to download its Office 2007 suite. The launch should be announced at WinHEC during Bill Gates' keynote, which begins in 15 minutes.

The download includes a new download manager, called SmartSource. The page is german, though you can select the language you want in it.

Hmmmmm.... interesting.

What the go with installing OFFICE. Should I un-install my current OFFICE 2k3 first. I was having problems with installing it last night.

Also, is there any way where I can extra IMG files on Office Forms Server, Groove Server 2007, Groove Server 2007, Project Server 2007, SharePoint Server Enterprice X64 and SharePoint Server Enterprise?

nah, just install it into a different location, like C:\program files\microsoft office\office12\files\etc.... but outlook will have to be overwriten or something, it just says you can't install outlook 2003 w/ 2007

"Also, is there any way where I can extra IMG files.." ..?

Amid threats of a lawsuit from Adobe, Microsoft acknowledged Friday that it would remove support for saving files in PDF from Office 2007, as well as dropping its own rival format XPS from the productivity suite and Windows Vista.

The changes follow a breakdown of talks between the two technology giants after Microsoft announced last year it would include native PDF publishing with the release of Office 2007. The feature has long been a top request from customers, the company said at the time, and other office suites have the capability.

But Adobe was unhappy with the move and a dispute has been brewing for four months, Microsoft's lead counsel Brad Smith said Friday. Although PDF claims to be an open format and is integrated into OpenOffice and Apple's Mac OS X operating system, Adobe

Overtype mode, i.e. the way Microsoft Office apps, in particular Word, will overwrite text in front of the cursor as you type, without so much as a beep, if you happen to have pressed your Insert key, has long been the scourge of typists the world over, and for a good long time there's been real no reason for its existence at all.

Finally Microsoft seems to have realized this, as according to Jan Miksovsky at flow|state, Office 2007 will have overtype mode, no matter how many times you press the Insert key, disabled by default.

Of course, there's still a preference to re-enable the "feature" since, as Miksovsky says, "with a user base the size of Microsoft's, it's virtually guaranteed that a large corporate customer has a vocal department that swears they need Overtype mode, so dropping the mode was probably out of the question." Now, can we get rid of the CAPS LOCK key, next?
