Get the 7900GT. It always wins in benchmarks against the X1900GT, and is an amazing overclocker.
Get the eVGA GeForce 7900GT KO Superclocked version from Newegg. At $290, its $20 more than the base 7900GT, I think.
Other good brands include BFG, XFX, MSI, and Leadtek. eVGA is the best of them all though.

I just got a 7900 GT two days ago. it's a great card.
I got mine to 560MHZ so far, on stock cooling and at stock voltage.
but I plan on getting the zalman VF900, and once I get that, I'll mod it to 1.55V and see if I can hit 700MHZ.
with a volt mod and aftermarket cooling, the 7900 GT can usually get around 700MHZ. and that will perform better than an X1900 XT.
