Movies? I don't speak Hindi or whatever they speak there, so I wouldn't enjoy them.

Sightseeing? There's one thing in India that I'd want to see, the Taj Mohal.

Culture? More like poverty.

This is much too politcal, I'm done with this post.

good, go sit in a box in your room, that way you wont risk any exposure to cultures unlike your own and you can live in your own fun little world... im sorry i had no intention to insult you by explaining what 3rd world meant , just informing you because you didnt seem to understand it... but calling india's culture poverty?? thats just plain racist and ignorant

This has become a weird sophomoric digression from the original topic which was, in fact, about new ideas in high performance storage devices. What are you guys smokin'???

there really isnt much more to say about the actual topic

i think what Orayn said should be discussed here, i mean do u really care about the above topic?

P.S. Yo triskit, im not sure but isnt the logitech 5.1 speakers, X-530? or are u referring to one of the ones in the lines of like 5450 or 5500? just asking

They are overstating their case. Notice they are extrapolating their long term predictions and that none of those predictions have been tested.

That technology is not that stable, prone to data errors, subject to data loss, and far less tolerant than traditional DVDs. Just turn up or turn down the heat enough to kill bacteria and all your data is gone. Don't leave it on the dash in your car during a heat wave or snow storm that's for sure. They took a neat step but that's all it is at this point.

I can see applications for this new technology; however, when it becomes resilient and stable enough in carefully controlled server environments. Of course that alone would be enough to make them all quite wealthy.

Thats like having all of space for a garage lmao. In turn...how FAST would they read? That's a LOT of information to sift through.

Can you imagine the potentials for creating digital projects though? paired with the advancement of graphics and cpus, games could be made into limitless "worlds" with endless detail, in both texture and 3-d modelling. The more space used though the more time will have been spent on the games creature though....

Ummmm....you spelled "Taj Mahal" wrong. That only proves my point. ;)

But....back on topic....yeah, technology advances pretty quickly. And there are a lot of people doing innovative things with it. [motherly voice] My, they grow up so fast![/motherly voice]

You know back in the day we all used to say we would never need 2gig of ram, now were screaming for our OS to support more than 3gig and a couple of our games today require 2gig.

But back in the day, the amount of ram we had was still COMPARABLE to 2 gigs. Maybe you had 1 gig or 512mb so its not that great of an upgrade, but 50 TERABYTES?! That is a rediculous jump; the largest HD right now can hold 750GB (and I doubt anyone here could find a use for that much space -- nonwithstanding pornography).

Yeah, thank you. After reading this thread and being Indian, I have lost respect for quite a few TF members.
