Seagate 120 Gig Sata Barracuda Not Recognized By Windows 2k Or Xp!!!

My hdd is not recognized by windows. There are no drivers for it. What can i do? IT IS A 7200.7 and I have a biostar 200n barebones.

does the bios recognize the drive?

Ur mobo has a VIA VT6420 SATA RAID controller which need's to be enabled in the bios ..else the mobo will not recognise the drive

ahh i c, how do i enable it? I set everything to default... It still wont see it.

Read ur mobo's manual u'll find it .. if u still can't do it ..then post again.. i'll probably take a look at it's manual n' let ya know ..

hey can u please look in the manual for me? I cant find anything on the controller. I also looked in bios and couldnt find anything that was obvious... Can you please help?

Okay ... i couldn't go thru ur manual as yet .... but i did find out somethin' else .....

Biostar released a Bios Update to fix some issues that they had with the Sata...

U can find the updates on this page

Check ur bios version ..if it is older than the one's on the site .then update ur bios n' then try if ur drive works.
