monitor messed up

I was recently playing with my monitor settings in the ATI control center. when I restarted my pc the resolution was raised and the monitor was now in wide screen mode, it starts up fine until the part where I would expect the windows XP user log in screen, instead I have a black screen, with the mouse cursor, from what I can gather I can only see 1/4 of the screen at this point,

I cant seem to click or do anything on this screen, any ideas?

I can log into linux fine, with the usual resolution, its just with windows that I get this problem.

I am using a Saphire Radeon 9200SE

Hello,

Power up your PC, then before the Windows XP loading splash screen, hit F8 to bring up advanced boot options, and select to boot using Enable VGA Mode.
