A few months ago, I posted a request for help with buying a new motherboard bundle. My prime concerns at the time were speed and price. These were suggested by members:
1)I'd recommend a Intel 2.4Ghz Celeron D, 512MB-1GB of cheap Corsair DDR ValueRAM and a ATI Radeon 9000 or 9200 graphics card...all of it should come to less than $400
2) Wow, you can do so much better than that, especially if you use AMD.

Sempron 64 2800+ (INCREDIBLY OVERCLOCKABLE) - $73

MSI K8N Neo-V - $51.99

Corsair Valueselect RAM - $72

eVGA nVidia Geforce 6200 - $43
(Not too sure about this...feel free to change it if you wish.)
Grand total of $239.99. This is kind of a budget machine, however, and if you have $100-200 more to spare, you'll go a lot further.
My situation has changed and my primary concern now is speed.
I have a 200 G HD and it takes me 24 hours to perform a complete virus scan. I also converted and burned an 850 Mb MPEG file to DVD and the operation took 32 hours.
I don't really want to spend more than $450. I am a bit concerned about value for the money but I really need to fly.
Are these recommendations still valid, or are there any more suggestions (I want this to be my system for quite a while)?
